STAFF VERSUS PUPILS
ON Wednesday 8 October sixth year pupils took part in a charity football match against teachers in aid of Breast Cancer Campaign.
After a few days of rain the pitch was brought alive by the skills of both teams. The teachers won the match beating the pupils. The final score was 4-1.
WELL DONE, to both teachers and pupils who took part!
MAKING A WAVE!
On 25th October, Auchinleck Academy were just one of many schools to brave the waves at the Ayrshire Schools Swimming Gala held at the Citadel Leisure Centre in Ayr. The pupils from the school had tough competition but they all gave it their best shot. Some pupils from the school made a “consideration time” for the Scottish team (this means they will be considered for the National Team) while others just missed out.
All pupils did well and all deserve a pat on the back. They did themselves proud as well as their school. WELL DONE!

Mrs Dudgeon with the help of S6 pupil Lauren Nelson now take a girls’ football team. Training takes place on Thursday’s at 2.55pm-4.00pm and at present more than 20 girls attend. They are currently training towards Coca-cola 7 ‘s tournament which takes place on 12th January and is for U-14′s so will involve S1/S2 girls. They are also training towards playing games against other schools. Lets hope our girls are as successful as the boys’ football teams in Auchinleck Academy. Good Luck!
Basketball
The under 15s team travelled to Wallace High School in Stirling and had a comfortable 49-41 victory.
Staff vs Pupils: The Basketball Game
On the 9 December the pupils took on the staff at basketball. Mr Tickner was one of the staff brave enough to play. He feels that the pupils all played really well and were unlucky to get beaten. The difference between the two sides was the fact the teachers had an excellent coach – Mrs Dudgeon! The game was played at a fast pace and all the teachers were exhausted by the end. Mr Tickner says he cannot complain as he himself only played about five minutes. However the fact remains that the teachers have now beaten the pupils at football and basketball this year so bring on the volleyball match!
